Here are some important notes from the 1/17 and 2/8 meeting:
-Updated calendars were distributed. Please make sure you refer to the revised pink calendar.
- Our Extended Dress Rehearsal is now on Thursday, Feb. 23 from 4:00-8:30. Dinner will be provided.
-The Santa Fe rehearsal will be Friday, March 2nd. The students will leave school early (2:45 pm at the bus loop) to travel by bus to Santa Fe High School. UIL rules state that no parents, friends, siblings, or visitors will be admitted to this rehearsal. When we finish and get cleaned up, we will return to Friendswood Jr. High by bus. We expect to be back at FJH by 6.30.
-The competition is Saturday, March 3rd at Santa Fe High School. All students must check in at the bus loop of FJH no later than 7: 45 am, when we will depart by bus to Santa Fe. All students are required to ride the bus in the morning. Our performance will be at 2:30 in the afternoon; parents, friends, siblings, etc are welcome to come watch our performance. The award ceremony will begin at 4:30 pm, and students should bring nice clothes to change into prior to the ceremony. After it ends, parents will take their children directly home from Santa Fe HS, since we will not have a bus on the return drive home. Tickets to view the One-Act Play competition are $3. Concessions will also be available for purchase. Cast/crew must bring a sack lunch on the day of the competition. A classroom will be provided so that you may store your personal belongings. UIL rules state that no parents/visitors are allowed in this classroom or the backstage areas.
-Wednesday, Feb. 29th, we will have an opening night performance at FJH at 7:00 pm. Cast and Crew call time is 5:30pm. Cast/Crew, please eat beforehand! Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for students.
Thursday, March 1st, we will be presenting our play to the student body during 2nd and 7th periods. Brie Sharp (understudy) will play the role of Marjorie during 7th period. You will be responsible for all work missed during this time.
- We appreciate the parental support! Those of you who signed up to help with food, tickets, lobby board, program, etc., you have been contacted through e-mail for more details. Thanks so much for volunteering your time, money, and efforts!
-All students need to provide their own dress shoes for the performance. These should be dark in color, with a rounded or pointed (not square) toe. COSTUMES ARE DUE TUESDAY, FEB. 21ST!
-Only 3 absences or early check-outs are allowed per student. After this, we will have to remove the student from the cast.
-UIL rules state that if a student is failing any class, he or she may not participate in the One Act Play. Make sure you are passing your classes!
GRADE CHECK SHEET DUE MONDAY, 2/13! STUDENTS MUST BE PASSING TO ATTEND REHEARSAL. IF NOT PASSING BY 2/21, YOU WILL BE REPLACED IN THE SHOW.
