I have been teaching in Friendswood my entire career. I did my student
teaching in the fall of 1983 at Friendswood Junior High School and I just
never left. The 2009-2010 school year is my 26th year.
I am eligble for retirementr!!
I am married but I still use my maiden name that I started with in 1983.
My husband has four grown children and a slew of grandchildren. Living
with us are two dogs and a cat.
My favorite thing to study is weather. I love hurricane trivia and, of course,
the Texas Revolution (What self-respecting Texas history teacher
doesn't?).
I am very patriotic. I am deeply religious. I love to laugh at
myself. I cry easily. I am a TERRIBLE typist and I forget to use spell
check, just ask my students. Give me half a chance and I'll take a nap.
I hope that my students learn some practical organization and study
skills. I am a pretty organized, structured person. Maybe some of it will
rub off if they see it day after day.
I have a deep appreciation for gracious manners. I expect my students to be polite to each other and
to the adults on campus. I want them to realized that people treat you better when you show respect
to them.
It is my hope that my students leave my class realizing that a "bunch of
old dead guys" really do have things to teach us and hopefully all of us
can have better lives because of those lessons.
