Warm-Up:
When
do you think it is appropriate to argue with someone? Explain your answers. (3/4 page)
Assessments/Evidence
of Student Mastery/Products: After completing the warm-up and discussing
the answers, the students will finish their coral reef stamps. This will count as a major grade and
will be due at the end of class, or at the beginning of class on
Tuesday. After they complete the
project, the students may finish work on their coral reef word search
assigned last week, as well as studying for the test on Wednesday.

Warm-Up:
What do you think is the hardest thing
about growing up? Explain your
answers. (3/4 page)
Assessments/Evidence
of Student Mastery/Products: After we complete the warm-up in class and
discuss the answers, the students will have a chance to vote on the coral
reef stamps that they think are best in their class. The two winners in each class will be
placed in a final group that will determine the winning stamp for the
contest. The students will vote
for their choices on Thursday of this week. The students will then be given time to study for
their Coral Reef Test on Wednesday.
They must have a pencil to take the test.

Warm-Up:
What
would happen to the oceans if coral reefs disappeared forever because of
human activity? Explain your
answers. (3/4 page)
Assessments/Evidence
of Student Mastery/Products: The students will spend the first 5 minutes
of class studying for the Coral Reef Test, and then will take the test. It is 25 questions and has true/false
and multiple-choice questions.
After the test, the students will complete their warm-up questions and
we will discuss their answers after.

will watch a coral reef video that helps wrap up our unit over coral
reefs.

Why
do you think people get so excited about penguins? Explain your answers. (3/4 page)
Assessments/Evidence
of Student Mastery/Products: The students will work on their warm-up
answers and then discuss their answers with the class. Once finished, they will receive a
handout over Penguin Information.
They will also read page 5-82 in the textbook that goes over Penguins. We will discuss the information in
the handout as well as the information in the textbook over Penguins.
