School appropriate lettering is o.k. Please be sure to label both your shorts and shirts with your first and last name with a permanent marker. This will help us identify clothes that are left in the gym and locker room. You may wear sweat suits, wind pants, etc., (of any color) during the winter as needed. You will need athletic shoes that relate to the activity we are involved in during the year. You may wear rubber-cleated shoes for outside activities (flag-football, soccer and softball). Court shoes will be for activities held in the gym. Make sure you have a pair of P.E. shoes in addition to your school shoes. Students are reminded to take their clothes home at the end of each week to be washed. Do not wear any jewelry during dress-out time. *Be sure to lock up all valuables in your locker. *Students that do not bring P.E. clothes are still expected to participate in class. P.E. Fee:
P.E. fees are $7.00 for the entire school year. This fee is taken care of during registration. Participation:
Each student must participate the entire period to get full credit for the day. This includes health assignments, exercise, running, skills tests and tournament play. Participating in activities outside of school is not an excuse for failure to dress out or participate. Written Tests:
Tests will be given over rules, history, terminology and strategy related to Individual Sport Units covered during the semester. Tests will also be given on health units throughout the year. Illness or Injury:
Each student is to take a doctor’s note to the nurse before coming to P.E. She will give you a P.E. excuse to give to your teacher. A note from the nurse does not take the place of a parent note. Any note from a parent is to be given to your P.E. instructor at the beginning of class. Remember, a parent note is good for a maximum of 3 CONSECTUTIVE days. Students without a doctor or parent excuse are expected to participate. Failure to bring an excuse may result in a written assignment and reduction in grade. Be sure to tell your teacher if you become sick or injured during class. Locker Room Information:
Each student is responsible for a locker and a combination lock that is assigned him. Do not switch lockers without notifying your coach. Make sure your clothes, books, lunches, money and valuables are put in your locker and locked up each time you leave your locker. If your lock is missing, notify your coach. Do not use any locks other than those issued by your coach. Missing locks must be replaced with a new lock at a cost of $5.00. A clean towel will be provided for each student on a daily basis.
