Tuesday D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything & Read) or Study hall
Wednesday D.E.A.R. or Study hall
Thursday D.E.A.R. or Study hall
Friday Team Building activities / Journal entries /Character activities
Advisory provides an opportunity for students to share information, become
organized, enjoy books, build character, serve the community and become more
aware. It also is the period for receiving important information and handouts about school and
community events. Students are expected to be productive, remain on task and avoid disturbing others.
Evaluation will be determined by student cooperation, participation and adherence to the appropriate
activities. Students will begin with a grade of 100 with 5 points being deducted for each infraction.
Infractions include the following:
- Arriving late
- Talking during the Pledges, the moment of silence, the announcements, or the teacher’s presentation
- Being out of assigned seat without permission
- Talking during activities when not authorized ( DEAR days/Study Hall days)
- Failing to bring materials for any day’s activities (ALWAYS bring organizers and a book to read)
- Being unproductive on any day
- Disturbing others
- Failing to follow the Social Contract as established by the class.
