PARTICIPATION GRADE

Participation grades count 25 per cent of your grade--more than quizzes (20%)! Each quarter, you will get 2 participation grades.  The good news is that your grade starts out as a 100!  It is up to you to keep that grade as high as you can by being responsible and participating in class.  You lose points from your participation grade for the following:

1. Not singing the songs we are learning (5 points)
2. Not participating in class activities (5 points)
3. Speaking English during “Spanish only” times (5 points)
4. Breaking classroom rules (5 points)
5. Not cutting out flashcards before the day they are due (5 points)
6. Not labeling flashcards (10 points)
7. Not having flashcards on the day they are due (15 points)
8. Losing papers (5 points)
9. Failing to bring materials to class (5 points)
10.  Failing to read the board and get out materials at the beginning of class (5 points)
11.  Off task (5 points)
12.  Not correcting tests (5 points)
13.  Forgetting workbook (20 points)
14. Gum (5 points)
