Monday - Assign vocabulary words electrical energy, current, circuit,
energy source, connector, output device, closed circuit, open circuit,
switch). Cards due tomorrow. Students draw diagrams of ways to make a
closed circuit and ways that do not create a closed circuit (open ircuit).
Tuesday - Check vocabulary cards. Provide notes on electrical energy.
Sstudents illustrate one open circuit and one closed circuit for each type
of output device.
Wednesday - Students investigate electrical conductors and insulators.
Provide notes on insulators, conductors and electromagnets. Students (in
table groups) should propose a question and hypothesis for electromagnets.
Once approved, students should complete experimental design for Thursday.
Thursday - Vocabulary test. Those passing perform electromagnet
experiment. Those failing, observe.
Friday - Electrical energy test. Vocabulary retest. Complete experiment
