The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a nice urban campus that students often call the "University that Ate Birmingham." UAB has an enrollment of about 18,000 students of which about 12,000 are undergraduates. The campus is convenient to I-20 and I-65 and is within walking distance to Five Points, a quaint area with restaurants and shops. UAB is a research university known for its medical school and medical related programs. UAB is one of the top-100 universities in the US. Based on my years there, the part about the university I like most is the diverse student population and the many international activities. The school nickname is the Blazers and the school colors are green and gold.
