How well do you know your U.S. geography?
Click on the link and you'll see a blank map of the Continental
United States plus Alaska and Hawaii. At the top of the screen,
you'll see the outline of a state you'll recognize. Click on the
outline of the state, then drag it to the blank map and place it
where you believe it should go. The first few are a tough,
Florida, Alaska, Texas and Hawaii are no-brainer's.
When you release your mouse button, the computer will show you
where that state should be in red, and you'll get a score and
error (in miles from correct location). If you were correct in
your placement, the computer will present you with the next state
outline for placement. If you were not correct in your placement,
you'll need to drag the state to its correct position before
you're given the next state to place on the map. At the end,
after you've placed all 50 states, you'll be given a final score,
average error in miles, and the total time it took for you to
complete the map.
