Please check and sign your child's planner every night. Helping your
child stay organized can really help them be successful in school.
Spelling homework will be given every week. Remember, words and homework
are sent home on Monday and homework is due back on Thursday.
Math homework will be assigned as needed. Check the planners!!
Even though your child does not have a reading log to fill out at home,
reading at home is very important. Do you have a 15 minute drive to soccer
practice? That is a round trip of 30 minutes!! 30 minutes to READ!!
My theory is, if they are reading in the car, they can't be arguing!!
As you know, we take attendance very seriously at HISD. We do A LOT at
school each day. Your child has 3 academic classes. When he is not here,
he misses lots of info that will be needed later in the week, month, and
year. Unless your child is running fever, or doing one of those gross
things we'd rather not mention, make sure they are at school.
