Third Six Weeks Week Six Monday January 9th, 2012 - Test Review Tuesday January 10th, 2012 - TEST - formation of the universe, life cycle of a star and galaxies. Wednesday January 11th, 2012 - Thursday January 12th, 2012 - Friday January 13th, 2012 - Week Five Monday January 2nd, 2012 - No School, Teacher work day Tuesday January 3rd, 2012 - Wednesday January 4th, 2012 - Thursday January 5th, 2012 - Friday January 6th, 2012 - Glitter Galaxies Lab - students will make a galaxy out of glitter, hypothesize how many stars are in a galaxy and learn that the shape of a galaxy is due to the age of a galaxy. Your homework is to continue to study for the test. Week Four Monday December 12th, 2011 - Today in science class we discussed the test from Friday. Students in periods 5-7 completed test corrections. We began looking at the next unit, the stars and galaxies. You have no homework. Tuesday December13th, 2011 - Today in science class Wednesday December 14th, 2011 - Today in science class Thursday December 15th, 2011 - Today in science class Friday September 16th, 2011 - Today in science class we Week Three Monday December 5th, 2011 - Today in science class we continued looking at the phases of the moon and completed an activity with golf balls. We turned in the assignment for a grade. You had no homework but your study strategy homework is due on Friday. Tuesday December 6th, 2011 - Today in science class we continued looking at the phases of the moon, we started our review for the moon test. Your homework is to complete the moon talk/reason for the seasons worksheet if you did not finish it in class. Wednesday December 7th, 2011 -Today in science class we began graphing the moon phases and tides. This assignment will be due on Friday if you did not finish it in class today. Thursday December 8th, 2011 - Today in science class we reviewed for the science test tomorrow. remember that your study strategy homework is due tomorrow. Friday December 9th, 2011 - Today in science class we took a test on the Earth/Sun/Moon. We turned in our graphs and our study strategy homework for a grade. You have no homework. Week Two Monday November28th, 2011- Today in science class talked about the reasons that we have seasons and took notes in our notebooks. We also continued to work on the assignments from before thanksgiving break. All of the assignments can be found on learn.rice.edu. You have no additional homework, except to make sure that all of your work is turned in. Tuesday November29th, 2011- Today in science class we continued to work on our seasons assignments from before thanksgiving. At this point all of the assignments should be turned in. You have no homework. Wednesday November 30th, 2011- Today in science class we did a lab activity called reason for the seasons. We modeled the location of the Earth and Sun at each season and talked about the plane of the eccliptic where the suns rays hit the Earth and cause seasons. You handed the lab in for a grade, no homework. Thursday December 1st, 2011- Today in science class we went to the lab and modeled the phases of the moon. Students were the Earth, the lamp in the middle of the room was the sun and each student had a moon on a stick that they used to show the phases of the moon. There was no written portion to this lab, this was used strictly as a learning tool. You have no homework. Friday December 2nd, 2011- Today in science class we continued to discuss the phases of the moon, you have no homework. |
