I taught for 3 years in San Jose California before coming to Hopewell. Each
year I taught something different. I taught 6th grade math, 8th grade math,
algebra I, life science, ESL math, and ESL science. I piloted an ESL
math/science core class for San Jose Unified School District.
The 2007-2008 school year is my 3rd year at Hopewell. I am very excited
about teaching both algebra and geometry for high school credit at the 8th
grade level. I love teaching math and building students'self-confidence
through a math curriculum.
I received a bachelor's degree from Colorado State University in wildlife
biology with a minor in spatial information management. I have a teaching
credential (graduate school) in California to teach science and math up to
the 12th grade, and I am certified in Texas for mathematics 4-8.
My mission is to help students experience how fun it is to master the skills
and concepts of the upper mathematics courses.
My mission is to introduce higher order thinking with abstract mathematics,
i.e., application of the mechanics of algebra.
My mission is to help build a love for math and eradicate any fear of math.
