About The Teacher ( College: University of Texas/Austin)

I have taught at Hopewell Middle School in Round Rock since the
2000-01 school year. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
(Applied Learning and Development), with a specialization in History from the
University of Texas at Austin.

After receiving my degree in 1996, I taught for Austin ISD for 4 years, then
transferring to Round Rock ISD in 2000.

I have also been a lead teacher in the summer program, TexPeditions, at the
Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum (BBTSHM) in Austin (Summer of
2004 and 2006). I was a summer camp counselor for the Old Stories, New Voices
program the summer's of 2009 and 2011 at Fort McKavett near Menard. I am 0ne
of three proud sponsors of the state and nationally recognized Jr.Historians
of Texas History Club at Hopewell Middle School.

Mission For The Class

The mission for my students in World Cultures is to impart to them a
strong desire to learn about the cultures and history of our world. As they
discover the connection between the various world cultures and their life, it
is my hope they will be inspired to learn more. Through such discovery, I want
my students to also understand that the past is important, as it
affects how we live in the present and look at the future.

I look forward to teaching your child World Cultures this year!
