I am originally from Missouri but spent many of my school-age years in Texas
and I have been teaching for several years from Georgia to Missouri to
Texas. I am very excited to be able to "travel the globe" with your children
and bring exposure to the wonderful variety of cultures on our planet
throughout this course! I am the proud mother of three wonderful sons and
two wonderful daughters and have been married for 18 years to a wonderful and
supportive husband. It's great to be back home in Texas!
I am especially honored and excited to have been selected as
Hopewell's "Teacher of the Year," for the 2011-2012 school year and look
forward to representing our wonderful school!
My mission is for each and every student to feel a part of something special
as we explore the incredible wealth of knowledge available to us from other
parts of the world. I strongly believe it is crucial for students to
understand that the world is bigger than just our little corner of the earth,
especially given the globabl economy that continues to emerge in their
lifetimes and the wonderful opportunities they have to be exposed to people
of other cultures.
I believe that every child brings many individual talents to the group and my
goal is to encourage the growth and sharing of those talents. As
personalities and experiences differ, we come to appreciate the incredible
volume of uniqueness within our reach, while ultimately realizing that we
are all more alike than we are different.
