How often should I expect my student to have homework?

Homework is assigned almost every night Monday through Thursday.

How do I know if my child is turning in homework?

Students are given a homework sheet every week that they write their
assignments on and if they have their work on time, I sign it. If they do
not have it in on time they won't have a signature and it must be complete
by the next Monday and stapled to the back. All work must be shown to get
partial credit and every problem must be done.

How can I help my child in Math?

If you can work the problems in a way they understand, but it is different
from how we do it at school that is perfectly fine. If they are struggling,
make sure they are coming to ask questions. If I am not available, they can
go to homework hive every day before school at 7:45 or after school on
Mon - Thurs until 4:30 for help
or they can ask another Math teacher.

How do they get their grades?

25% comes from homework and warmups. These are both a completion grade -
students know that if they do it all on time, they will get a 100. They are
responsible to seek help or ask questions in class if they missed any
problems and did not understand.
25% comes from quizzes - these are just like the homework assigned to see
how much they are understanding.
10% comes from daily participation. Sometimes this is a finished
product in class and sometimes it may be a presentation or they
may get points for asking questions in class.
40% comes from Tests.
