There are many programs available for summer reading. Check out the ones listed below! Bluebonnet Program: 3rd-5th graders can read Bluebonnet Nominees throughout the year, including summer! Students who read at least 5 books can participate in the statewide vote each January. Jollyville students can also earn recognition for reading 10, 15, or all 20 books! An online form must be filled out for each book read at home. Bluebonnet Book List Bluebonnet Book Form Fill out a reading log and get a free book from the public library: Austin Public Library Summer Program Read 8 books and pick out a free brand new book at Barnes and Noble: Barnes and Noble Program Read 600 minutes and earn a $5 gift card at Half Price Books: Half Price Program Jollyville's Special Reading Spot Contest: Is your family traveling somewhere special during the summer? Grab your digital camera, a favorite book, and capture a special reading spot or pose to enter. Students might be found reading near an important landmark, in a basketball hoop, or any place their imagination takes them. In the photos, students should be visibly reading a favorite book. The 10 most creative pictures will win, and those photos will be enlarged for display in the library and shared on the morning news. All participants will receive an award.
