Students are encouraged to read at least 30 minutes a day. Family members
can help students comprehend what they are reading by asking simple questions
such as, "Who are the main characters in the story?", "What is the story
about?", " When does the story take place?", "Where does the story take
place?", or any other question that gets the student thinking about and
discussing the story or passage.
