Why don't you accept work on spiral paper?

I have almost 200 students, and especially when I am grading
writing or
essays it takes a tremendous amount of time to go through all of
those
papers. These requirements help me grade more efficiently.

Why do I only get three hall passes per semester?

Any time you are out of the classroom, you may miss material. To
minimize
this risk, I limit the number of times you may leave. A 7 minute
passing
period should be sufficient for you to take care of personal
business most
of the time.

Is there any way for me to bring my grade up?

First of all, don't ask this a week before the end of the grading
period. I
am available for tutoring almost every day, both morning and
afternoon (if
you let me know you are coming you can make sure I don't have
another
commitment that day). Beyond that, I do offer extra credit. It will be up to
you (the student) to get it out of the
folder,
complete it and hand it in on time. If you have more than one
zero in a six weeks, you are not eligible for extra credit.

What's the best way to get in touch with you?

I do have a direct number at school, but it does not have voice
mail
capabilities. I will not answer the phone during class time, and
I may be
out of the room at other times. The fastest way to get in touch
with me is
to e-mail me. I check this several times a day and should be
able to get
back to you within a matter of hours.
