How do I communicate with the teacher? The best way to communicate with the teacher is through e-mail or a written note. If you would like to talk to the teacher in person, you can request a parent teacher conference. How do I know what is going on in class? Go to your teacher's web page. On the classroom news letter you will find information about what your child is studying in class. Also be sure to read everything in your child's Monday Folder. My child is being bully. What can I do? Talk to your teacher, share your concerns and you will get guidance on what is happening. Go to the Parent Room (210) and look for books that can provide information on strategies to help your child. English Language Learners (ELL), is a program that provides special attention to those children that speak languages other than English at home. Teachers have special certification to provide instructional strategies that will effectively help children acquire fluency in English. What are the benefits of having my child participate in the ELL program? The benefits are: 1. specially certified teachers 2. special attention to develop English lanuage skills 3. monitoring progress towards English language aquistion Don't be worry about the result on the OLSAT test. It is a requirement from the district, but has no influency on your child record. Ask your teacher if you are truly concern about it. Be sure to read the back of the results page. |
