Welcome to fourth grade! I am looking forward to a fun-filled your with your
child. This year will be loaded with games, field trips, challenges, and
success. My goal is to encourage a positive and worthwhile classroom, where
each child will feel free to share ideas and learn from one another.
My teaching career began 33 years ago in Houston, Texas, in the Klein
Independent School District. I taught first grade for four years and then
moved to third grade for six years. In 1989 I joined Laurel Mountain as a
fourth grade teacher, and I will start my twenty third year. I feel very
fortunate to be associated with such an incredible group of people for so
long.
I grew up in Alvin, Texas, a small community located between Houston and
Galveston. I attended Texas Christian University where I received a B.S. in
Education. I have a minor in Physical Education, an endorsement in Special
Education, and a TAG and ESOL certification. I enjoy all outside
activities. My two favorites are golf and tennis. I have one son named
Jake. He grew up here at Laurel Mountain and is starting his sophomore year
at the University of Alabama.
