When will Scholastic order forms come home?

Scholastic brochures go home approximately once a month in the 
students' Monday folders.  I send orders in on the Friday morning of the 
week the brochures were sent home.  Please either order online or 
cut out and return the order form section of the brochure only, 
and check to make sure your child's name is at the top.  Please 
send checks only (payable to Scholastic), not cash.  If you order 
online, you will be prompted to enter an activation code to get 
to our class order page.  The code is GQ4MC.

What are your classroom library policies?

I have a classroom library of children's books of all levels and 
genres.  I allow students to check out books and take them home, 
after they have signed the book out on their personal classroom 
library card.  There is no rigid time-limit for check out, but I 
check students' library cards periodically to make sure they are 
currently reading all books they have checked out.  Encourage 
your child to be just as responsible for classroom library books 
as he or she is for school library books.  Although most of my 
books are second-hand, these hundreds of collected books 
represent a significant financial investment on my part in our 
classroom, and they provide enjoyment to other students.  Please 
help them not to get lost or damaged, or replace them if they 
do.  Thank you!
