What is e-waste?
E-waste, also known as electronic waste, is a common term used to describe electronic products approaching the end of their "useful life." Computers, computer parts, PDA’s, copiers, and fax machines are common electronic products that are considered e-waste. E-waste is the fastest-growing segment of municipal solid waste but can be diverted through reuse, refurbishing, or recycling.
What type of e-waste will ACRP take to recycle?
Goodwill Industries of Central Texas builds refurbished systems using donated computers and/or their components. E-waste that can not be used in the refurbishment process will be recycled in and environmentally responsible manner.
The Austin Computer Recycling Project takes:
- Computers
- Monitors
- CPU's
- Keyboards
- Mice
- Printers
- Scanners
- Other peripherals
