2006 Great Paper Drive Winners - Austin
Thanks to everyone!!!
Welcome to a New Year of recycling.
We hope that you're learning that recycling can easily become a way of life that puts a smile on your face as you help the environment, our community and Laurel Mountain.
THE RESULTS FOR THE 2005 PAPER DRIVE ARE IN.....
The Challenge was on for this years paper drive since we would be competing with 700 - 900 schools in both Austin and San Antonio. We placed third this year and collected $300 for the Green Team. The Laurel Mountain Community collected 25,509 lbs. of paper in two months! Great Job!!
For January 2005, the Abitibi Paper Retriever® program collected enough paper products
to equal a herd of 4,360 elephants.
As a result of your paper recycling, enough air pollution was reduced to equal the removal of
8,303 cars from the road for a WEEK!
Enough electricity was saved to power 54,492 homes for a MONTH!
Abitibi's paper recycling efforts removed the equivalent of 1,308 tractor-trailers of paper from landfills.
KEEP UP THE EXCELLENT WORK
