Hello Laurel Mountain students and families!  I am in my fifth year as a Health and Wellness teacher at LME.   I have an extensive background in teaching and athletics, including experience as an elementary and high school physical education teacher, as a coach, and athletic director. I have had the opportunity to teach in Virginia, Minnesota, and
Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

I have three wonderful sons, Will, Spencer, and Brent.  Will graduated from Purdue University with a civil engineering degree and he owns Big Red Dog Engineering of Austin.  Spencer will be getting married on December 17, 2011 and I will have a daughter-in-law, Angelica Huerta Schnier.  Angelica is getting her Masters from Ohio State University in environmental engineering.  Spencer is earning his Doctorate in environmental engineering from the University of Illinois.  Brent graduated from Texas State University with a business degree.  He is currently managing a local restaurant, and he is a great cook.

I spend my free time playing golf, gardening, and walking Town Lake with my dog, Scout.

My goal is to help each of each of my students develop a lifelong appreciation for sports, fitness, and
wellness. I am looking forward to guiding each of my students in the process of becoming physically active and healthy for a lifetime!  We will certainly have lots of fun together this year.  Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.
