Dear Penguin Parents,
Valentine's Day is coming next week. Please send a 4x6 (or smaller) baby picture of your child in a sealed envelope this week for a Valentine's game we will be playing. Do not let your child see the photo if possible. I will return these after the party.
You may send your child's Valentines in on either February 13th or 14th. However, please do not send them early as we will not be making Valentine's bags until Friday. Thank you in advance for helping make this process smooth.
This week we will be learning:
Reading: We are beginning our novel study of Charlotte's Web. This book is a higher level, and we will be focusing on vocabulary building to help us understand our reading.
Writing: We will be continuing a creative writing peice based on the book Duck on a Bike. This project is a favorite every year. We will also be reviewing possessives. Penguins, here are some games to try:

Spelling: No Spelling this week- Review week of previous words.
Math: We are beginning our exploration of geometry. This unit will center around both 3D and 2D shapes.
Science: We will conclude our study of objects in the sky, including the solar system. Next up, a review of landforms and the forces that change the earth...volcanoes and earthquakes!
