Find opportunities to enjoy reading! Create a special nook in your house
for your child's reading area. Get the assistance of your child and let them
incorporate their own idea for what a reading nook should look like.
Then sign them up for a summer reading program. Half-price books, Barnes
and Noble, HEB, and your public library all have wonderful reading programs
with prizes!
During our summer, my girls knew that in order to go swimming they had to
read me a book. They got very use to this routine. They began to
say, "Hey mom, let's read a book and then go swimming!"
