What time do need to be at school?

Please arrive at 7:15 and check in at the front office. You will
be given a daily schedule, general instructions, a name tag, and
a Walkie Talkie!! From there, your schedule will direct you to
go outside and help with the car riders line.

What type of schedule will I follow?

You will receive the schedule for the grade that your child is
in. If you have more than 1 child, you can receive multiple
schedules and rotate through each of the schedules at different
parts of the day. We are flexible, especially when we have dads
of multiple kids! If you have a special interest or
talent...computers, art, science, etc...please let our principal
or assistant principal know. We'd really like to utilize our
dads to the fullest while you are on campus.

What about lunch?

The schedule is designed for you to assist in the cafeteria and
also have lunch with your child. Adult lunches are $3.05, cash
and checks are accepted. Please keep in mind that you cannot use
your child's cafeteria account to purchase your lunch.

If I volunteer, what is my time commitment?

You can volunteer for the whole day, or half a day. Any time
that you can give is greatly appreciated!

Can I volunteer more than 1 time?

Absolutely! In fact, we would love for you to volunteer more
than once - it makes a difference in your child's education.

What do I wear on my volunteer day and do I need to bring anything with me?

Please wear comfortable clothing. You will be helping out during
recess and will also be doing lots of walking. Please bring your
reading glasses too if you have them. You might be reading to
kids or they might be reading to you!

Where do I get a WATCH D.O.G.S. t-shirt?

WATCH D.O.G.S. t-shirts were designed by the National Center for
Fathering specifically for this program. They are the
"uniform" that dads wear on the day they volunteer. Live Oak
also has vests that dads can wear if they do not have a t-shirt.
Please note that you do not have to purchase a t-shirt to
participate as a volunteer. You may purchase a t-shirt at our
WATCH D.O.G.S. kick-off night or from Cindy in our office. Costs
are $10.85 per shirt, tax included.

I can't wait!!! How do I sign up?

It's pretty easy. Click on the Registration page and follow the
instructions. Then click on the Calendar month and choose your
day.

Can there be more than 1 Watch D.O.G. on any given day?

Surely! We realize that some dads may want to volunteer on a day
that is special to their family, like a birthday! We have 2 open
slots for each day.
