Jane Long Elementary
Hello. This is my third year to teach at Jane Long and I am so happy to be
here! I love my students and I love my job! I am blessed to work in the
computer lab because I get to see every student in our school at least once
a week. My goal is to use technology to teach reading, math and science in
the lab. It is amazing to me how quickly our little Marlins pick up
technology skills. They enjoy being on the computers so much that at times I
think they forget they are working.
On a personal note, I graduated from Brazoswood High School and then earned
my Bachelor's Degree at Abilene Christian University. I have been married to
my husband, Joel, for 4 years. We have a beautiful baby girl, Jenna, and I
also have a step-son, Cody.
My vision for the computer lab is that it will be a class where technology
is used in collaboration with math, science and reading curriculum. I want
to equip my students with basic computer knowledge, but mostly I want to
teach them that computers are tools for learning. In my lab students will
learn to use a computer for research, artwork, math and reading tutorials,
interactive science lessons, communication and much more!
