Mr. Ivy, a graduate of the University of Texas, has been teaching at Manor
High School for the past 28 years. He has been teaching
Economics/Government for the last 21. He recently retired from coaching
after coaching for 33 years. He and his wife, Dianne, have been married
for 34 years. Mr. Ivy has 2 sons, Kevin and Keith, who both graduated from
Manor High School. Kevin graduated from Texas State and is currently the
Assistant Basketball Coach at Hallsville High School. Keith graduated from
the University of Texas and is a civil engineer in Houston.
This course is designed to prepare students for the "Real World" when they
graduate. They will be exposed to general business ideas as well as
consumer education in Economics. In Government, students will learn the
history of the U.S. government as well as the functions of the different
branches and their civil liberties.
