Frequently Asked Questions
1. How must I behave in class?
All school and class rules apply. In addition, because learning a foreign
language involves being willing to make a mistake in front of your peers, I
am especially sensitive to teasing, put-downs and other impolite behavior.
Learning a foreign language involves recognizing and respecting other
cultures, so disrespecting ANYONE’S culture will not be tolerated. This
includes the culture of those adults who value courtesy, hard work, and
punctuality. All students will be expected to clean up after themselves at
the end of every class period.
2. How can I study? How can I help my child to study?
Learning a foreign language requires a lot of frequent practice sessions.
It is better to spend 15-20 minutes every single day than to try to do
everything at once. When students tell me that they “studied for 3 hours
last night!” I generally know that’s because they let a lot of time go
by without studying at all. Some memorization is required. I will teach
several techniques for you to try out at the beginning of the school year.
3. Do you offer tutoring?
I have tutoring hours every week. Students may come in the following
times: (AM = 8:15-9, PM = 4:05-4:35)
Monday - AM
Tuesday - AM
Wednesday - PM
Thursday - AM
Friday - AM
4. How can I get in touch with you?
From 8 a.m. until 4:05 p.m. I can be reached at 464-6547. If my voice
mail answers, I will return your call as soon as is practical. An even
better way of communicating with me is by emailing me. My email address is:
jenna_brewer@roundrockisd.org. I check my email very frequently and will
respond within 24 hours. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
