I was born in El Salvador,Central America and moved to Austin fifteen years
ago. I got my college degree at UCA (University of Central America) and have
received several training in the education field. I enjoy teaching children
a foreign language as well as the culture of the hispanic community.
At NYOS, Spanish as a second language in the Elementary grades is taught
through a variety of activities: reading, singing, writing, video,special
projects,lecturing, and TPR (Total Physical Response) activities. Active
students participation is encougared and expected. Students will learn
vocabulary related to different topics as well as basic rules of grammar,
pronunciation and conversation. The students will be introduce to different
Spanish cultures and they will learn about traditions and celebrations in
Spanish speaking countries.
