Weekly Assignment Expectations
Spelling!
Parents, please check that your child is practicing his/her spelling words.
There has a marked decline in performances on spelling tests!
Reading
Your child is required to read 20-30 minutes every night. Independent
reading is essential to helping your child become a better reader. It is a
great idea to ask them about what they are reading. Discussing the books
they read will help them as well!
Math
We have math homework Monday through Friday. These are short assignments
that are to reinforce what your child is learning in class. The assignment
should take no more than 20 minutes. After 20 minutes your child can stop.
If there are issues please let me know.
From Now until Friday, February 22:
Weekly Reader Reading Event: Students who wish to earn a ticket to a Six
Flags theme park can do so by reading and logging their reading! Once
students have read for six hours above and beyond the required reading, they
return their parent-signed logs to school. Dora Wong will collect them on or
before February 22. Late logs will not be accepted by Mrs. Wong.
