I first entered the classroom as a teacher in 1997, but this is my seventh
year to teach. In between I spent over five years working in state
government as a
legislative director for a state representative then as a lobbyist and
political advocacy director in both Austin and Washington, DC. I have
degrees in communications and history from Texas Tech University (Guns Up Red
Raiders!!!) and hold certifications to teach history, government, speech and
debate.
Outside of class I enjoy photography and spending time with my daughter,
Piper.
U.S. Government: We will learn about the fundamentals of government including
government philosophy, fundamentals of the Constitution, political theory and
application, political campaigns, elections, the judicial system, the
legislative process and state government.
World History: We will cover the last 5,000 years of human history with an
emphasis on government, religion, economics, technology and patterns of
interaction.
