5th grade students are responsible for the following homework for Language
Art and Social Studies:
1) Reading Log: Reading Log will be collected every Monday. Students will
read for 100 minutes and complete 5 question stems from the fiction reading
log calendar. Students will record the pages read, the number of minutes, a
response of the reading for each day. Students will
need to get a parent signature for each day of reading.
2) Spelling / vocabulary contract: Students will receive a new contract on
Friday. Students have until the following Thursday to complete the
contract. Students must complete the attached reading passage or skill,
choose 1 activity on the menu choices, and complete cursive words 3 times
each over the 1st ten words. This will be stapled and turned in on Thursday.
Students will receive notes in class on the word work and the vocabulary.
Students may bring home these vocabulary spirals to study for the test on
Thursday.
3) Daily Geography: Students will receive Daily Geography questions on
Friday. They will be due the following Friday. Students may use their
textbook, an atlas, or the computer to complete the work.
Students record daily homework in their student planners. Please check your
child's planner for additional homework assignments during the week.
