What about snack?
The Kinder Team has made a change in the way we have snack.
Please provide a DAILY snack for your child. Thank you to those
that have already provided a class snack- we have been using
those for the children that don't have any.
ALSO PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR CHILD WITH PEANUT FREE SNACKS. WE HAVE A SEVERE
PEANUT ALLERGY IN OUR ROOM AND WANT ALL OF OUR FRIENDS TO STAY HEALTHY AND
SAFE! THANK YOU!
Will there be nap time?
We will have quiet time each day for 20-30 minutes for the children to rest and relax.
Please provide a towel or blanket for rest time. Children may also
bring a lovey to cuddle with. If your child is not "a sleeper" don't
worry, they can rest quietly on their towel and look at books.
What if my child gets sick at school?
If your child is feeling ill or seems out of sorts or are warmer than
usual, I will send them to the school nurse. If your child has a
fever of over 100.4, you will be contacted to pick up your child
immediately. They will need to remain home, fever free and without
medication for 24 hours prior to returning to school.
If your child is not feverish, and doesn't yet require a nurse
visit, I will use my best judgement and give you a call just to let
you know what is going on and give you a heads up.
What is and who is the "Room Mom" or "Room Dad"?
The Room Mom or Dad is a parent that is willing to volunteer her/his
time to volunteer, organize, and assist with planning events,
classroom activities, and coordinating with all parents for
celebrations. This person may be asked to assist with book order
emails, reminders, and anything else that may come up. If you are
interested, please let me know!
Can I volunteer?
Oh,YES! There will be MANY opportunities to volunteer in our
classroom all year long! We will have a guest reader each Monday after
recess, Discovery Fridays (parents present a preselected/thematic
experiment to the class in small groups from start to finish), Math
Pentathlon, and many, many other events that are in the works. I
love having parent involvement!
