Commonly asked questions by parents:
1. Who goes to Resource class?
Students, in Kindergarten through 5th grade, who are struggling with fluency,
vocabulary, or comprehension skills in Language Arts may be referred to
Resource for one-to-one instruction. Math Skills may also be addressed as
needed.
2. How are they selected?
Students are referred at the beginning of the school year based on previous
school year's performance. Students may also be referred by their teachers or
administration when grades drop below passing throughout the school year.
Students who qualify under Title I may also attend.
3. How often do they attend?
Students may receive help throughout the year or per quarter as needed.
Attendence is from 1-2 times per week, depending on the student's needs.
4. Do they miss out on classroom instruction by going to
Resource?
Students do not miss any core curriculum classes. Students attend Resource
during their Reading and Math Computer Labs. They attend Resource for 20
minutes and then return to their labs for 20 minutes. Often, the Resource
teacher will follow them to the lab and guide them through their lab sessions.
