A Catholic elementary/middle school
guidance program that is infused with gospel values and sound human
development principles. OLSS is incorporating Faith, Family, and Friends
into the religion component in all grade levels.
Eighteen topics will be covered
throughout the school year including: understanding/respecting self and
others, communication, family/friends, moral decision-making, stress/time
management, self-safety, responsibility, feelings, and individual differences.
The goals of the Faith, Family,
and Friends program are to assist our students with the following: knowing
themselves better and positively accepting themselves, forming positive and
enduring interpersonal relationships, improving their decision-making skills,
using their abilities and skills for their own happiness and for the good of
others, achieving self-direction and self-discipline, and beginning/continuing
to view life and learning as an interconnected whole aimed at loving God and
serving one another.
