In order to keep you better informed about your child's progress, I am now
grading papers using the 4,3,2,1 system that is found on the Parent Report
Card Rubric.
4-Understandings beyond grade level expectations *
3-Exhibits mastery of grade level skill/concept
2-With minimal guidance
1-With direct guidance
*Please note that not every classroom assignment will have the opportunity
to display a score of a 4. However, there will be plenty of chances for me
to observe "beyond grade level expectations" as we begin problem solving
through the content areas and conversing in Reader's/Writer's Worksop
conferences. Please note that a 3 is MASTERY which equals 100 percent,
therefore, if your child didn't receive a 100 on an assignment that means
they will automatically get a 2 on that assignment so please don't be
alarmed.
