Grading Information
Third grade students receive numerical grades once each nine weeks. Please
see the RRISD calendar for specific dates for each grading period.
Most of the time, students are graded on the standard 0-100 scale with grade
breakdowns as follows:
90-100 A
80-89 B
75-79 C
70-74 D
below 70 Failing
Occasionally, students are graded using a 1-4 point system:
4- Expert level, equivalent to 100
3- Proficient level, equivalent to 90
2- Apprentice level, equivalent to 80
1- Novice level, equivalent to 70
0- Given if a student does not complete an assignment due to refusal
You may also see the "CAN" grading rubric:
C- Completeness, 45 points possible
A- Accuracy, 45 points possible
N- Neatness, 10 points possible
You may access your child's grades from home via the Home Access Center found
on the Pond Springs website under Parent Resources.
Using the Home Access Center (HAC)
From the Pond Springs homepage, choose Parent Resources > Home
Access Center
This will take you to a page with an overview of the HAC as well
as a link to the log in page.
Choose the Log-In link.
If you had an account set up last year, you may use that to log
in again.
If you are a new user, follow the directions to set up an account.
If you are a new user, you will be prompted to enter your child’s
name and birthday. You will create a username and a password
will be emailed to the address you have on file.
