I just love teaching at Purple Sage Elementary! This school year marks my
35th year of teaching, and my 23rd year at Purple Sage. I was born in
Fairport, New York and graduated from Fairport High School. During my
junior year of high school I was an exchange student to Uruguay, where I
learned to speak Spanish. I attended the University of Texas and received a
Master's Degree in Elementary Education, with additional certification in
English as a Second Language, as well as Bilingual Education. I also have a
minor in Spanish and Portuguese. After teaching fourth grade for 12 years in
Austin I.S.D, I moved to Purple Sage and taught third grade for 15 years, and
5 years in first grade. This year is my third year teaching Kindergarten,
and I just love working with this age group.
My husband and I live in Liberty Hill and we enjoy riding horses and trail
riding on the weekends. We also raise goats and love to garden and take
walks. My son and daughter are now graduated from college, and they both
attended Purple Sage Elementary. I am even teaching in his old kindergarten
room! When I'm not teaching, I enjoy reading, cooking, and being outdoors.
The students in Mrs. Coe's class will prepare for first grade. We will
read, write, and practice math each day. Every day we will come to school
ready to learn and to do our best! We will work together and follow our
rules to reach our goals this year.
