FAQFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How can I help my 2nd grader build his/her reading skills? Your 2nd grader should read to you for at least 20 minutes each day,if possible. Give them time to sound out the words themselves, and encourage them to use the context of the sentence for help. Reinforce comprehension by asking them to make predictions before they read, and having them answer questions about what they've read. How can I help my child to master addition and subtraction facts to 18? Mastery of facts takes time and practice. Use flashcards, computer games, practice books, or oral practice--try to change it up. Practice for no more than 15 minutes at a time. Remind your student to use the strategies that we have learned in class. |
