I am from NY, and I just moved here four months ago. I attended Hofstra
University in Hempstead, NY and I have received from that institution a
Masters of Science in Inclusive Childhood Special Education. I am certified
toIn both New York and Texas to teach General Education (Early Childhood
through 8th grade) and Special Education (Early Childhood through 12th
grade). I also have my Bachelors in English and Education from the
University at Albany in New York. I have had a vast amount of experience
teaching children and working with children in many different capacities
from tutoring to summer camps. My favorite color is purple and my favorite
pasttime is reading. I also love to work with children, and am very much
looking foward to helping all of your children be successful in math!
My mission for the class is to create an inclusive, hands-on, and
individualized experience for the children that demonstrates all subject
matters can be tied together and applied to the world outside the classroom.
By the end of the academic year, I would like the children to understand
that math is happening all around them all the time, and it is not just a
subject that is taught in the classsroom. In addition, I want to make sure
that every child experiences success in mathematics on a daily basis, and
believes that they can be successful in mathematics. Lastly, I fully intend
to prepare every child for those important TAKS/TEKS exams in April so they
call all be promoted to middle school together!
