Homework

1. 08/22 Please be sure that all students know their full address and have a
contact phone number for us to call in case of an emergency.

2. 08/30 Students should have the first hand-out completed (pages 4-6). It
is very important that these papers are kept because, when the workbooks come
in, the information on these pages should be transferred to the book.

3. 10/04 MAJOR ASSIGNMENT: Memory Map

Many students have come to me with questions about this assignment. So many
have asked questions about this assignment I postponed handing it in until
October 5/6th (depending on which day you are scheduled to my class.) It is
really quite simple. The assignmnet may be turned in on nine pages or a
poster board. You SHOULD follow the instructions on page 17 of your handout
(Activity 1.7) You must complete this handout BEFORE you can start your
Memory Map.

In case you lost it here are the instructions:

Creating Your Memory Map
A. For each event you have listed, you will create a panel or page.
B. In each panel or page, write a sentence that details the event. Then,
write commentary using a different-colored pen. Your commentary should
explain the importance of the event or explain your feelings and emotions at
the time. Be sure to include transitions.
C. Using a third color, provide one sentence of dialogue for the scene.
D. Create a drawing or graphic representation for each event.
E. Give your Memory Map a title that will intrigue the reader and represent
the narrative.
F. Be prepared to present your Memory Map telling your story to either a
small group or the whole class.
