Welcome to Mr. Parrack's NewsFlash.

9/19: To 7th grade parents: Students have an assignment this week to greet adults as they would in France.  French students greet their teachers by saying Bonjour, followed by the title monsieur (Mr.), madame (Mrs.) or mademoiselle (Miss), without using the last name in direct address.  They also shake their teacher's hand.  In families, children greet their parents by the less formal Salut (Hi) Maman (Mom) or Papa (Dad).  Instead of hugs, families give kisses on the cheek, called la bise.  Students are going to greet 4 teachers, and both parents (or 2 family adults) in the appropriate manner, and get their signatures.  They will teach you how to say Salut and do la bise.  Please remind them that the signature sheet--which I gave them in class today--is due this Friday, Sep. 23.  Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun playing along in French!

Students are using edmodo.com for communicating, getting alerts and the calendar (for the weekly agenda).  Please join your child's Edmodo group to view their activity and receive alerts.  Parents require a unique code to join, which you can get by emailing me.
