Fourth Grade

Higher level rhythms are being performed daily.
The rhythm name game is being played.
Stephen Foster is the Composer Idol winner.
Recorders start Sept. 28th.Don't forget to bring your recorder from home.You may purchase a Yamaha recorder package for $5.00.Please send money by Sept 17th. Make checks out to RES.
Extra recorder order forms are located in the hallway by music room.
Pitched and non-pitched instruments will be reviewed with a variety of rhythm patterns and music accompaniment.
Listening will be Old Black Joe and We're Coming Father Abraham 300,000 more.
Chimes and chords are the music study for this week.
Pitch Exploration will be performed every music class.
Tongue Twister Vocal Warm-ups are also completed every music class.
Additional listening for Stephen Foster is Some Folks.
Composer of the month is Cole Porter.
Listening suggestions come from Anything Goes.
Recorder positioning and basic fingering is introduced. B, A, G, song are covered.
Additional games with the music alphabet are played.
Composers for November and Decembers are The Beatles.
Listening suggestions are Yellow Submarine and Help.
Additional fingerings for C2, D2 are practiced in class.
Kiltie Jig, Halloween
Recorder Karate will be introduced in December.
White and Yellow belts will be given.
January composers are The Carpenters
Listening selections are Bless the Beast and the Children, Top of the World, Sing, Mr. Postman, Ticket to Ride, Close to You, We've Only Just Begun
Falsetto is a music word to remember
Recorder belts of Orange, Green, and Purple were given.
February brings The Beach Boys to music class.
Fun, Fun, Fun,- Be True to Your School, Barbara Ann, Help Me Rhonda are listening suggestions.
Blue and Red Belts in Recorder Karate were given.
End of Year Musical was introduced in February.
I NEED A VACATION!
Auditions for parts will be held soon.
Peter, Paul and Mary are the highlighed musicians for April.
Morning rehearsals begin April 21st. Check your calendar for groupings. These are optional rehearsals.
