I am proud to be a 5th generation Texan living in Austin with my tennis
playing husband of 35 years. My two daughters graduated from Westwood High
School and both recently graduated from college; Jillian graduated from
Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Tx, with a degree in music education. She
is now assistant band director at Rusk High School. Natalie graduated from
Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia with degrees in
animation and sequential art. Natalie now lives in Atlanta.
I began teaching at RRHS in 1998; before I began teaching, I made and
exhibited studio art quilts for 10 years. I exhibited the quilts in
invitational and juried shows around the US, in Japan, and in Scotland. My
work was recognized with numerous awards and was published in many books and
magazines. Most recently three of my quilts were included in Lone Stars III,
A Legacy of Texas Quilts 1986-2011.
I love jazz, eating out, and going to the movies with my daughters when they
are home. My creative outlet now is designing and making jewelry with beads,
semiprecious stones and wire.
Have fun and make art!
