About The Teacher

2011 - 2012 marks my 18th year teaching in Round Rock ISD. The first five
years of my career were here at Round Rock High School. I then spent the
next four years as a Maverick over at McNeil. Fortunately, I then returned
to the district's #1 high school seven years ago.

I have traveled extensively*, 37 countries thus far, many of them more than
once.

My latest international adventure was to Costa Rica were I enjoyed white
water rafting and doing a canopy zip line tour (300 feet above the Costa
Rican rain forest).*

I have already put funds down to my next trip were I will be taking a cruise
in June and July of 2011 to: San Juan (Puerto Rico), St. Thomas (US Virgin
Islands), Dominica, Barbados, and in the West Indies the island countries of
St. Lucia and St. Kitts, St. Maarten(Netherlands Antilles).

After that, I will, most likely, be taking a train tour of Turkey, Bulgaria,
Romania, Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia, Macedonia, and Croatia in 2012 or 2013.

World Geography is actually a very fascinating subject. It is much more than
learning maps and about cultures, it encompasses all disciplines and all
facets of life. I truly hope to get your child involved in learning about
this big beautiful world of ours through my love of the subject this school
year! Working together I know we can.
-------------------------------------------------------------
*Every other year or so, I chaperone kids (and parents, grandparents and
friends to Europe. I am presently organizing a student tour of Costa Rica
for this coming 2011. It will be a complete EcoTour where your child’s
Biology teacher will also be involved.

*The Europe tour is scheduled for 2012. We will be traveling to England,
France, and Italy of that summer. It takes about 10 to 12 days at a cost of
about $2000. Those interested and I complete financial activities throughout
the year to raise money to help pay for the trip.
For information about either just email me or have your child talk to me for
the pamphlet/application.

**NOTE: RRISD no longer participates in out-of-the-country tours. This is
completely independent of the district.

Mission For The Class

Round Rock High School - helping your child achieve: Self-Knowledge, Vision,
Initiative, Courage, Integrity, Adaptability, Humility, Endurance, Purpose,
and Resilience

It is my hope that when all is said and done in June that my students will
find that education, especially in the world of geography, is an engaging
topic that the can utilize for the rest of their lives.

I wish that I give them all of the tools that they need so that they can take
this knowledge that my students have attained and will develop an
understanding and an appreciation of the diversity of our world's cultures
and a respect for of God's creatures both great and small.

The world is a totally different place than what my students find outside
their front doors. No one group is correct about all 6.8 billion of us on
Earth. I hope my students can appreciate culture and diversity for what it is.

Live, Love, Learn.
