This is my 17th year teaching. I graduated from Concordia
University Wisconsin with a B.A. in Elementary/Middle Education.
After graduation I taught third and fourth grade in a small private
school in Warsaw, IN. In 1998, I moved to Texas and began teaching a
Salem Lutheran School. The summer of 2001, I graduated from Sam Houston
State University with my Master's Degree in Education Administration.
At Salem I teach science to the fourth, fifth and this year, also, the sixth
grade. At home I enjoy reading, walking, SCUBA diving, crafts, traveling,
and DIY home projects.
This is my fifth year to teach. I graduated from Sam Houston State
University. I taught in public school for four years, while all that time my
kids were at Salem Lutheran. I am thrilled to be here at Salem now! I
teach Language Arts, Religion and Social Studies to all fourth graders. At
home I enjoy scrapbooking, cooking, traveling, gardening and watching my
kids play baseball and softball.
ABOUT MRS. SMITH
I am excited to be teaching fourth grade this year! This will be my tenth
year as a teacher. I graduated from Sul Ross State University in Alpine,
Texas with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and I hold certifications in
Reading, English as a Second Language, and Special Education. Last year I
graduated from Concordia's Colloquy program and I am now a Called Lutheran
Teacher. I started my teaching career in the Conroe public school system
where I taught third, fourth, and K-5 ESL. I have been teaching at Salem
since 2007. When I'm not at school I enjoy spending quality time with my
husband Tige and my son Cole. My personal passion is training and racing
barrel horses. I am looking forward to partnering with you and your child
this year. I strive to be a positive Christian role-model and create a
loving, principled and fair classroom environment where all of my kids
succeed academically, grow spiritually and have fun. Please don't hesitate to
