Announcements

November 10, 2009

Thank you for your attendance at parent / teacher conferences last Tuesday.
Your presense was recognized and valued by rewarding your son or daughter
with a non-uniform dress day yesterday.

This Wednesday the school will have a Veteran's Day Program at 2 PM. The
rehearsal for this great day is taking place now. All of the students are
asked to wear red, white, and blue tomorrow to school.

Progress reports will continue to be supplied in hard copy form. I will have
them in the Wednesday folder next week.

We are quickly approaching the Thanksgiving holdiay. God's blessings to you
and your family, and thank you for giving me and the rest of the staff the
opportunity to serve you.

For All the Saints,

Larry D. Saalfeld

Dear Salem parents and students,

Time has flown by and we already have completed one-sixth of the 2009-10
school year. This has been a year of great moments. God continues
to bless us in many ways.

Our school theme, "More & More like Jesus", has been beautifully presented in
chapel by the homerooms of 7Honeck, 3Schlichting, and 8Tally. Our athletic
teams have all experienced the thrill of victory and we wish them the best as
we continue into the season-ending tournament events. Salem successfully
hosted the JV Soccer and Volleyball tournament last Saturday with the soccer
team placing second out of eight teams and the girls tied for fifth out of
sixteen teams. Thanks to many hours of organization and the great parent
volunteers, everyone experienced a fantastic tournament memory.

Have you seen the awesome student art work in our halls? I'd encourage you
to take a leisurely stroll and view these displays. We also have honor's
groups in choir and band preparing for and participating in area music
festivals. This is fantastic. Academic coaches and talented students will
meet this and next Wednesday for their continuing preparation for PSIA,
Quest, and other academic contests.

And finally this note. Progress reports will again be sent home in the
Wednesday folder this Wednesday.

Have a blessed Fall Break and may you and your family be blessed with good
health and safe travel.

For All the Saints,

Larry D. Saalfeld

September 14, 2009

Dear Salem parents and students,

Teachers will be tabulating grades today and tomorrow for this Wednesday's
release of progress reports. Teacher Web has yet to make the necessary
changes in the use of EXCEL files in the presentation and use of Student ID's
to view progress report grades. We hope that we can soon continue to present
these grades to families over Teacher Web as we have in the past. Until that
takes place, hard copies of progress report grades will be sent home in the
Wednesday folder for grades four through eight.

Also, congratulations to the JV volleyball team. They took second place in
this past weekend's tournament at LHN.

Blessings to your week.

For All the Saints,

Larry D. Saalfeld

Dear Salem families,

I want to thank all students and parents for your efficient effort in having
a successful beginning to this school year. I truly pray that your extended
weekend break is safe and restful.
The week beginning next Tuesday will be the third week of recording grades
for the progress report which will be available at this location on September
16. Thanks again for blessing Salem with your children and your supportive
effort.
