What should I do if my son forgets to bring home his homework?

Not to worry! First, check the homework link on the second grade web page.
If you do not have the necessary materials required for the evening's
homework, your son may do 'substitute homework.' For reading, he may read
for
15 minutes. For math, he may solve problems that you make up, or he may
practice addition and subtraction flashcards for 10 minutes.

What is Frog Log Reading, and when is it due?

"Frog Log" Reading is our name for an independent reading program at home.
Sixty minutes of independent reading is due every Friday. Your son may read
any book of his choosing. Please remember to sign one frog on the Frog Log
for every 15 mionutes of reading that your son completes at home. If he has
lost the Frog Log sheet, you may send a note indicating the number of
minutes he has read and we will send another Frog Log home in his red folder.
